New Music: Charli XCX - "Boom Clap"
This girl deserves to be huge one day. I'm sure her 'time' will come soon.
MTV.com got the world exclusive of premiering Charli XCX's new song "Boom Clap", her contribution to the soundtrack of romantic comedy-drama film "The Fault in Our Stars" which 20th Century Fox will be releasing in US theaters on June 6th!
The movie is about 'teenage love' and living life like it might end tomorrow, so I think Charli XCX has done a pretty nice job capturing that in "Boom Clap". "Boom clap/The sound in my heart", sings the British newcomer in the chorus of the catchy song she wrote. When the person you love kisses you for the first time, your heart just races!
Besides the catchy lyrics, "Boom Clap" features a mighty drum-pounding beat too. The verses may be a little dark, but Charli XCX compensates with a extra sunny chorus.
This and "Super Love" are just pop perfections. I want a new album now!
