New Music: Carrie Underwood - "Little Toy Guns" [Full Audio / Review]

carrie underwood little toy guns

Carrie Underwood is unable to record bad music. Just check out her latest new song “Little Toy Guns” if you don’t believe me. The country/rock number is one of the two brand new tracks that Ms. Underwood has included on her “Greatest Hits: Decade #1” album - which hits stores TODAY (Dec. 9). The other new song is the lead single “Something in the Water” which topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and reached the Top 10 on Country radio last October. Being the only new song left, it’s evident Arista Nasvhille (Carrie’s label) will release “Little Toy Guns” as the next and final official single from “Greatest Hits: Decade #1” very soon. And I think it'll do as good as “Something in the Water” because the song is super solid. Stream it below!!!

“Little Toy Guns” song review

The second I read this title when the full tracklisting was unveiled I was left intrigued. “Little Toy Guns”? What could the song be possibly about? A joke song? “Before He Cheats” Pt. 2? Well, I was wrong with both of my guesses. The song is no joke but pretty serious. "Mom and daddy just wouldn't stop it / Fighting at the drop of a faucet”, narrates Carrie Underwood in the first verse. The story of the song is pretty much explained in these two lines, right? “I wish words were like little toy guns / No sting, no hurt”, continues Carrie in the chorus. So that’s what the “little toy guns” were. Carrie’s silent cry for her parents to stop fighting and that words didn’t hurt so much. She sings this song so powerfully. This has to be autobiographical!
