New Music: Anastacia - "Take This Chance" [Full Audio]
Anastacia announced it last week and here it is. A brand new song from the 47-year-old Chicago singer was premiered on Ken Bruce’s BBC Radio 2 show today (Sept. 28th). The song is titled “Take This Chance” and it is the first single, and one of the two original songs, from Anastacia’s forthcoming “The Ultimate Collection” greatest hits album, due in stores on November 6th.
“Take This Chance” is a guitar-driven mid-tempo ballad where Anastacia reflects about her life and wonders if what she’s done is all she can do. “I'm gonna take this chance and do something I never tried”, sings the “Paid My Dues” chanteuse in the chorus of “Take This Chance”. Anastacia is ready for new challenges! And this should certainly be used as inspiration to push forward and try new things by her fans.
What a great track! Anastacia never fails to mesmerize anyone listening with her vocals, and the message of the song is really something all of us should apply to our lives. As for the “rightness” of “Take This Chance” to be a “lead single”, here I’m bit on the fence. No denying this is a powerful track, but I don’t think it’s lead single material. Anastacia should’ve released an up-tempo instead. Fingers crossed the other new song she’s including on “The Ultimate Collection”, “Army of Me”, is more radio-friendly and upbeat.
