[New Artist Alert] Get To Know Chelsea Lankes & Her Addictive New Song “Bullet” (About A Bad Man She "Dodged")

chelsea lankes

It’s time to discover a new American talent. Her name is Chelsea Lankes and I don’t know how it’s taken me so long to hear about her. I’m sorry, but I just can’t forgive myself.

This beautiful and talented brunette singer who hails from Fort Worth, Texas released a new song that I can’t get out of my head titled “Bullet” a few days ago. This synth-pop track will be included on her forthcoming self-titled EP that she plans to put out on digital platforms on April 8th independently.

Bullet” is about a mediocre man that turned out to not be her prince charming, and who fortunately isn’t part of her life anymore. Here makes it way the metaphor used by Chelsea in the song. She says thank God she “dodged him (that bad man) like a bullet”. This individual gave Chelsea a bad life, he told her lies, he didn’t like any of her friends on purpose, she massacred her public image, and on top of all this, he cheated on her. Oh lord! Better to be alone than in bad company, right? Oh wait! This is exactly what Chelsea says in her song (we’re like one mind!): “I'm better than I've ever looked / And boy I never felt this cool”. Nice shade-throwing in the way!

Really feeling this life lesson that Chelsea Lankes teaches us in “Bullet”. For this and many more reasons, this makes this song a must-listen.

Bullet” is simply the perfect song. The melody in the verses is great and the chorus is catchy and shady (just the mix I like). I mean, should this song be given a shot in radio, I know it would do well. The only thing that Chelsea needs right now is to have the support of a major label who surely would do everything possible to make her and her music be a mainstream success. But for now, she just has to work really hard doing her independent thing, and I’m sure that one day very soon her hard work will pay off and Sony or Universal will be ringing her phone.

By the way, is it just me or Chelsea sounds a bit similar to Diana Vickers (“Once”, anybody?) in the chorus of “Bullet”? Lovely accent! Oh Diana, I just remembered you and I need to revise your discography ASAP.

Hit or Miss?
