Mustache-Wearing Adam Levine Delivers Boring “Don’t Wanna Know” Performance With Maroon 5 On “Ellen”: What Happened?
It’s been awhile since this single has been out and we hadn’t had a first TV performance yet, not even on “The Voice”, where Adam Levine is a coach, but this situation was resolved today, November 3rd, when Maroon 5 stopped by “The Ellen Show” to finally perform “Don’t Wanna Know” on a TV show. As you must already know, “Don’t Wanna Know”, which also has an alternate version featuring rapper Kendrick Lamar, is the lead single from Maroon 5’s upcoming sixth studio album that will be released soon via Interscope Records.
“Don’t Wanna Know” is already a hit, I’m a big fan of the song (I think it’s quite catchy), but what the heck happened to Adam Levine at today’s performance? I didn’t recognize him at all. First, that mustache totally didn’t look good on him, for he looked an 80’s porn star or someone who had forgotten to remove the mustache from this year's Halloween’s police costume, and second, because his performance was lifeless. He did quite okay in the vocal department, I'm not complaining about that, but the energy, his attitude were completely dull. It seemed as if he was either sick or had just left the gym and was exhausted. He was energy-less. When I clicked the play button on the video below I was convinced I was in for a fun performance, that I was going to see Adam interacting and getting close to the studio audience, etc, but all that I got was him standing there singing monotonously looking like he wanted to get done with the performance as soon as possible.
