Music Video Premiere: Calvin Harris & Rihanna - “This Is What You Came For”
Wait. That was it? But she just walked!
Calvin Harris premiered the “This Is What You Came For” music video last night, June 16, on VEVO, and the Emil Nava-directed visual is a tad disappointing. Yeah Rihanna may have looked stunning (what a face!) in it, but it’s just that NOTHING happened in the video. The plot was: let’s have Rihanna inside this giant cube where she will just walk and attempt at dancing while diverse footage (a club party, beautiful landscapes, a forest (with actual leaves falling inside the cube) or a thunderstorm) is beamed onto the screen walls. Calvin Harris will make a two-second cameo in his own video (lol).
Come on! “This Is What You Came For” is a huge hit and this is the best thing they could come up with for the music video? I’m shocked and upset. I mean, I know can’t “hate” the visual below because, let’s face it, Rihanna’s in it and everything she does, touches and blesses is awesome, but truth is that I was expecting “total slayage”, and slayed I have been not.
“This Is What You Came For” is said to be part of a new studio album Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is expected to release later in 2016.
