German people make such a boring crowd. It’s a fact.

The 2015 Echo Awards (sort of like Germany’s Grammys) were held earlier this week in Berlin at the city’s Palais am Funkturm and although there were many performers, only two are worthy of mention. First, Meghan Trainor, who wasn't a nominee that night but who was invited for being the international pop star that she is, plus her songs have been huge hits in Germany, and second, DJ Robin Schulz, who won the Echo Award for “Dance National” beating the likes of David Guetta, Calvin Harris or Avicii. As much of a fan I am of Robin, he knows the only reason he won in that category is because he was in his home country.

Performances-wise (please don’t mind the dead, sit-down, crowd), Meghan performed a medley of “All About That Bass” (uncensored version, home girl said “shit” on live television) and “Lips Are Moving”, from her debut album “Title”. Meanwhile, Robin Schulz also went the medley way by ‘playing’ his remix for the Mr. Probz hit “Waves”, his remix for the Lilly Wood and the Prick hit “Prayer in C” and finally his original own hit “Sun Goes Down”. While the German DJ did his thing with the turntables, invited, up-and-coming artists provided the live vocals.

Good performances, most-especially sweet Meghan’s of course, but I just can’t stop ranting at that dead crowd. Despite Meghan’s effort to lift them up from their seats (she commanded them to do so), they utterly refused. Ugh.

Thoughts?
