Lorde Shares Lengthy Snippet of Unreleased Song "Lost Boys"
What a tease! Generous queen Lorde posted on
her Tumblr this Wednesday morning (Dec. 10) a 40-second snippet of an
unreleased song called "Lost Boys". She co-wrote this with help man
Joel Little and it's a leftover from the "Pure Heroine" sessions. "Lost
Boys" was written in A DAY and never had a "final" version. I
wonder WHY though? "Lost Boys" sounds so good! And that melody is
just everything (you can quickly tell this belongs to “Pure Heroine"). Oh,
and if Lorde can write a song like this in a day then our new favourite New
Zealand person could perfectly be releasing album #2 next week! I just envy her
talent.

found this little guy whilst trawling through my archives and thought it would be a cute thing to share with y’all. we wrote this song called lost boys in about march of last year, we spent a day on it and then never touched it again (it was not a good song, i promise, haha). a lot of people asked what happened to lost boys, and i guess you’ll never hear the other three-quarters of the song, but there was something about these bridge melodies i thought was pretty. so here you go - a little pre-christmas look at the cutting room floor. xo
