Lorde Gives Sensational First "Yellow Flicker Beat" Performance at Austin City Limits: Video
Was that epic or what!? New Zealand’s Lorde was a performer on Weekend 2 of the Austin City Limits Festival at Zilker Park on Sunday, October 12th in Austin, Texas. During her lengthy set, where she performed almost the entirety of “Pure Heroine”, Lorde treated her Austin fans with a world exclusive: the very first live performance of "Yellow Flicker Beat”, the theme song of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1”. I’m so happy to see how much Lorde has improved her showmanship skills. She used to just stand in once place but now look at her running around the whole stage.
Man, this performance of "Yellow Flicker Beat” was epic. The vocals, the lights, the effects, Lorde’s signature weird body/hand movements, the wind in her hair….EVERYTHING was just fabulous. My favorite part in the video? By far when the first chorus kicks in and Lorde LOSES it (and I lost it with her too).
