Listen to The Vamps Cover “Jingle Bell Rock” & “Hallelujah”

the vamps christmas 2014

Joyful days are here for The Vamps fans. At midnight tonight (Nov. 30) the "Christmas edition" of the British pop/rock band's debut album "Meet the Vamps" will be available on iTunes UK and the following morning it’ll be at all major retailers in physical format. "Meet the Vamps" was released in 2014's Q1 across the world and this December month Virgin EMI are re-releasing the album in an attempt to get them juicy Christmas sales from the Vamps’ super devoted fans. Christened as the "Christmas edition", the repack features the entire "Meet the Vamps" album songs plus 8 Christmas covers and a DVD featuring the band’s recent concert in Birmingham, England. All of this just for 9.99! Not too bad, huh? Mothers of The Vamps’ fans, this could be your perfect gift!

Two of the highlights on the "Christmas edition" of "Meet the Vamps" are the covers of “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Hallelujah”. Some of the Christmas songs included on the repack like “Jingle Bells” or "Silent Night” we’ve heard before from the Vamps as they have posted live covers of these two for instance in the last 2 years. So the real spotlight falls on the never-before heard Christmassy covers such as “Jingle Bell Rock” or “Hallelujah”. Both are really nice efforts where frontman Brad Simpson honestly steals the whole show. As these are covers of super classics and the original melodies had to be kept, the band had really nothing much to do here. It's all about Brad's singing.

I notice he still have "delicate" vocals which tell he's voice hasn't fully "matured" yet. Wonder if it'll be too different when it does?

Thoughts?

"Jingle Bell Rock"

"Hallelujah"
