Lady Gaga - "Till It Happens To You" [Music Video Premiere!]
It's pretty scary this is the reality in many college campuses across the US. I just didn't know the rape rate in these places were so high.
"The Hunting Ground" is a documentary film directed by Kirby Dick that was released in select theaters early in 2015. This eye-opening documentary "presents several students who discuss being sexually assaulted at their college campus".
Lady Gaga recorded an original song, a super emotional ballad, titled "Till It Happens To You" (the title and theme of the song don't really need much explanation...), which she co-wrote with Diane Warren. The full song surfaced online many months ago but a music video had yet to be produced - and we actually didn't know if there was going to be one. But here it is! Released by surprise! The disturbing music video (uploaded to Gaga's VEVO account last night - September 17th), which was forced to include a "warning" message in the beginning, shows us only a glimpse of what happens DAILY in several college campuses in the US. Scary!
"Till It Happens To You" was also released by surprise last night on iTunes. "A portion of proceeds from the sale of the song will be donated to organizations helping survivors of sexual assault", Gaga has said.
Lady Gaga (and Diane Warren) so has to win a Golden Globe and an Oscar next year for this song! It's so powerful.
