Kylie Minogue & Shayne Ward on X Factor!
Kylie Minogue and Shayne Ward were the guest stars on Sunday's results show of The X Factor in the UK - The Australian diva took the stage to perform for the first time on TV her new single "Better Than Today" - Parlophone (Kylie's label) had to move quick after the shocking flop of "Get Outta My Way" (I know! I'm too shaking my head in disbelief!) so after intensive meditation they thought "Better Than Today" could be Aphrodite's savior. Unfortunately, I'd have to disagree. It's not that the song is bad, I like it, but there are sooo many other tracks on the CD that deserved single treatment first, e.g 'Put Your Hands Up', 'Too Much' or even the title track, 'Aphrodite'. Nevertheless, The X Factor always have a sounding positive effect on the singles artists perform there so I'm expecting "Better Than Today" gets a decent position on the UK Singles Chart next week. As for the X Factor performance itself, that I loved. She looked very diva, and despite she kinda tripped (1:43 - 1:47 xD) she still delivered a great show.
X Factor's season two winner Shayne Ward returned to the show that made him famous in Britain to deliver the first performance ever of his brand new single "Gotta Be Somebody". The Nickelback cover is Shayne's lead single from his upcoming album "Obsession" - in stores on November 15th. The song has grown on me but this X Factor performance was beyond boring. Besides standing still for the entire performance, Shayne relied way too much on the backing track, and sometimes completely lip-synch or forgot to pretend (minute 3:32! 'for me out there!). He went there to clearly SELL something that wasn't his voice. *sigh*. In the end, The X Factor proved again it's a superb platform as at some point of the night 'Shayne Ward' was the top trending topic worldwide. "Gotta Be Somebody" will no doubt debut within the Top 5.
