Kelly Clarkson Tributes Etta James In NYC!
Our beloved KeLeGend Clarkson paid homage to the late Etta James, who passed away this week at age 73 after a long battle with leukemia, by performing one of the R&B and soul diva's classic tunes, 'I'd Rather Go Blind' - This flawless, and emotional cover took place last night (January 21st) during Kelly's Stronger tour concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Amazing! Etta would be proud. And how cool Kel chose this mythical and magical venue to pay this tribute. You know Ms Clarkson has included a 'cover/fan request' moment during her new world tour, and on Saturday night she had a clear idea of what she wanted to sing: "This isn’t ‘At Last’ because everyone really covers that and so I wanted to do my favorite, actually, and, um, my favorite song is ‘I’d Rather Go Blind.’ So, this is for Etta!". Actually, in a way Etta James is really 'linked' to Kelly's career. It was 'At Last' what she sang at her 'American Idol' audition, as you can watch in the vid below. Slaying since 2002 baby!!
