Joe McElderry - Ambitions (New Song!)
2009 The X Factor winner Joe McElderry premiered his new song "Ambitions" today on Radio One's The 5:19 Show. This will serve as the first official single from his upcoming debut album entitled "Wide Awake" - in stores on October 25th. The cut is not actually an original recording but a cover from Norwegian band Donkeyboy's hit song also named "Ambitions". This group released it last year and became a #1 hit in Norway and Sweden. Not sure if I like the idea of releasing a cover as the lead single from his LP, but I guess Simon Cowell approved this for a reason. Song is not bad, but it needs to grow on me. I do notice it's very Mika style, especially on the high pitch tone. Can't wait to see how Joe will perform this. BTW, timing is perfect for an X Factor performace. "Ambitions" will be released in the UK on October 10th.
