Joe Jonas & His DNCE Squad Perform The Super Catchy "Cake By The Ocean" On "Jimmy Fallon": Watch
So sad they didn’t release this song in the middle of the summer. Surely it would have made it in a few “beach party must-play songs” lists.
DNCE, the new band led by Joe Jonas and signed to Republic Records, made their US television debut with the very first live performance of their debut single “Cake by the Ocean” on TV on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC on Tuesday night (Sept. 29).
All four band members sported Desigual-looking fashion for this “Fallon” performance. I guess “cool hipster” is their style.
Vocally, Joe Jonas nailed it. He sounded like in the studio version. But as for the DNCE band, were the bassist and the guitar girl really playing their instruments live? Lol. I’m really getting a strong feeling that this DNCE project is just an “excuse” made up by Joe to get his (solo) music career going again. He is the lead vocalist, he is the face of the band (do they really play instruments? I wanna know! Maybe they're just Joe's talentless BFFs), he will surely be answering all of the questions in interviews, and it’s just all about him. Joe's so smart.
By the way, I’m still totally obsessed with “Cake by the Ocean”. The chorus is so delicious, just like a slice of my favorite chocolate cake.
