Feminism spokesperson Jhené Aiko premiered via Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio a new song called “B’s and H’s” over the weekend. The stripped-down jam was first heard during Jhené’s live set at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in November 2015. Two months later, here finally is the HQ studio version.

In “B’s and H’s” (“B’s” standing for “b*tches”, and “H’s” for “hoes”), Jhené doesn’t only call out unfaithful men, but also uses this smooth R&B track to talk about feminism in a very descriptive and explanatory way. “I bet they don’t even know, oh / That you live in her home / Eating all of her food / She be paying your bills / Buying all of your clothes / And she pay for your phone / You be thinking you on / But you ain’t shit friend / Did you pick up your kids? / She be watching your kids”, sings the 27-year-old L.A-born chanteuse in the chorus of the The Fisticuffs-producedB’s and H’s". She points out to that bad man about who the really hard-working person of the relationship is. A reality-check this is. Take Jhené’s “B’s and H’s” as a more intelligent and profound version of Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women”.

Jhené Aiko is currently recording the follow-up to her 2014 debut album “Souled Out”. The set is expected to be released later this year via Def Jam.
