Jennifer Lopez performed her “Home” soundtrack song “Feel the Light” on Thursday night (March 19) on "American Idol". The judge stood up from the chair to hit the main stage to give the first live rendition of the pretty ballad written by Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel S. Eriksen and Kiesa Rae Ellestad. We have to have in mind that “Feel the Light” is a song intended for a kids movie so we can’t really ask much from it other that it to be age-appropriate, and have a positive message.

“Feel the Light” has been labelled by some as being "boring", and by others as: "It should've been J.Lo's first single from upcoming new album" but I think the latter is a bit too extreme and must've definitely been said by a Jennifer Lopez super-fan. The happy ballad is cute, but it's nothing ground-breaking nor super amazing.

What a dress!

As for Jennifer’s performance on "Idol” last night, she slayed a bit. She sounded terrific, although it’s true “Feel the Light" isn't the most vocally-demanding song ever, but she still served pretty awesome vocals. Yet, the attention-grabber of the night was the fierce singer’s princess dress whose visual effects, in combination with the floor of the stage, were mind-blowing. Did Dreamworks pay FOX for this performance? I believe they did because those effects looked expensive.

“Home” hits the theatres around the world in the last weekend of March.
