Janet Jackson Gives Us 24 Seconds Of A New Song Called "The Great Forever"
Goddess Janet Jackson is coming.
The 49-year-old entertainer posted a couple of hours ago (Aug. 20) on Twitter a 24-second snippet of a brand new song titled “The Great Forever”. Co-written by Janet alongside long-time collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the R&B jam will appear on Ms. Jackson’s forthcoming eleventh studio album “Unbreakable”, which according to several sources will arrive in stores around Christmas.
“The Great Forever” is the most mainstream thing (upbeat-ish, R&B-Synth) we’ve heard from Janet so far this era. I cannot wait to hear it in full, although from the lyric sheet (see above) she posted on Twitter alongside the snippet audio link, looks like the song won’t be very long – around 2 minutes maximum. Still, this teaser has given me so much LIFE and I’m super excited about hearing “The Great Forever” in its glorious entirety.
And I’m really digging the message of the song, by the way! JJ tells us in "TGF" that the only real recipe to achieve self-fulfillment is that you ‘be you’ and ‘just you’. Just don’t pretend.
