The rousing power ballad “Recovery” has been chosen as the second single from James’ self-titled debut album. The lead single "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You” failed to reach #1 in the UK, falling behind Lorde’s “Royals”. Will “Recovery” give James the second #1 of his career following last year’s “Impossible”? Let’s wait and see!
“Recovery” is such a stunning song. The lyrics are brilliant, and James’ vocal delivery is simply exquisite. Hearing him soulfully wail about his murky past in this song gives me goosebumps. It's so good! True "Recovery" is less commercial in sound than “You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You”, but it’s a best song anyway. As for the “Recovery” music video, James didn’t need no big budget and what he's shot it’s more than enough. The black and white clip sees a camera filming a sit-down James Arthur in circles as he performs the ballad on set.
