J. Cole Announces New Album '2014 Forest Hills Drive' Dropping In December

2014 Forest Hills Drive

Aside from a Ferguson tribute track and a few guest features here and there, J. Cole has kept quiet on the music side of things throughout most of the year. On December 9th, the Roc Nation artist will be making his return with the follow up album to 2013's 'Born Sinner'. Titled '2014 Forest Hills Drive', Cole named the project after a address to a home he recently purchased in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The home being the same one he grew up in as a child.

By dropping '2014 Forest Hills Drive' on December 9th, Cole puts himself into competition with Lil Wayne, who will be releasing his 'Tha Carter V' album the same day. The announcement of the new album came via social media and is accompanied by a seven-minute long video. Cole says "What up? My New Album is finished. It’s called 2014 Forest Hills Drive and it’s very special to me. It’s available everywhere on 12/9. This time I’m releasing no singles, just the album. See you in 3 weeks. Thank you for the love and support."

According to iTunes, '2014 Forest Hills Drive' will contain 13 tracks. Check out the official cover art to the album above and watch Cole's short announcement film below.
