Introducing...Tanner Patrick! Watch His First Music Video 'Satellites' Now!
The name of Tanner Patrick might ring bell. He was the lead vocalist of extinct Texas-based pop/rock band Disco Curtis. After promoting their music through various social media sites Disco Curtis signed a deal with Interscope, releasing an EP in 2009. The four-piece band eventually broke up after touring across the U.S and building quite a decent fan-base. Why the disbandment? That will remain a mystery to be only told by the band members. Although, Disco Curtis passed away, there was a member, frontman Tanner Patrick (before Tanner Howe), who decided to keep pursuing his dream of being a recording artist. He started posting videos on YouTube performing original songs and covers, managing to recuperate old Disco Curtis fans and captivating a new audience.
Now in 2014, Tanner Patrick is ready to give his music career a second shot. He independently released on April 22 his debut solo album "The Waiting Home" (Get it on iTunes for just $9.90 now), premiering the same day on his YouTube channel (nearly 500,000 subscribers!), the music video for the lead single 'Satellites'.
"The sound of the album is intentionally diverse with a rock/pop influence", said Tanner of "The Waiting Home", before adding "and the single, "Satellites" is a love-inspired electronic pop song".
Will we be seeing Tanner Patrick signed to a major label again? Maybe in a near future or for album #2. "I have been approached by major labels, but decided to write and record this album independently".
Reminiscing in sound to Owl City, Tanner's breathy vocals and the electro-pop production really make of 'Satellites' an enjoyable love mid-tempo that will certainly serve of a nice accompanying song while you're gazing into the sunset from your beach house terrace.
Tanner's solo debut definitely gets our approval, and we can't wait to hear more from him!
