Iggy Azalea Gives First “Team” Live Performance On “Jimmy Fallon”: WATCH
Our favorite Australian rapper, and the only one there is out there I think, Iggy Azalea stopped by “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” last night, March 22nd, on NBC to deliver the first ever live performance of her new single “Team”, which will appear on I-G-G-Y’s forthcoming second studio album titled “Digital Distortion” - in stores this Spring via Def Jam and Virgin EMI.
This first performance is very important, for it might help those still undecided whether they like or not Iggy¡s new single. For instance, I still believe the song is a risky lead single, and on the other hand; there are people who aren’t feeling the song at all - because, as of this post, “Team” is having a really hard time stabilizing within the Top 20 on iTunes - it is currently at #24…! So let's see how she did last night on TV!
WATCH THE PERFORMANCE:
With respect to the “Jimmy Fallon” performance itself, it was decent.
Iggy wore a green baggy outfit with a white swimsuit underneath which as a whole ensemble looked good on her.
The Australian rapper began performing “Team” solo - with only the help of her backup singers during the “Hell nah!” ad-libs - nice!. Iggy remained “solo” up until the first chorus - and I was already starting to think to myself: “Having seen the “dance video” they released for “Team”…where’s the dancing!?. Gladly, the dancing came in the second verse. That’s the moment when a bunch of dancers walked on stage and began to do choreographies. Iggy would join them from time to time - but in a very casual, “easy” way. However, where I did feel disappointed was in the bridge of the song - the best part it has. For I was expecting Iggy to slay us a with a very demanding, energetic choreography, but NOP, she kept the “casual” thing going.
If Iggy wants to improve the live performances of “Team”, I think she should let the playback roll for the bridge, and she should kill it with a choreo with her dancers. That’s what the bridge is calling for. This is just a friendly advise.
