Iggy Azalea Gives Award To “Friend” Maluma, Performs “Switch” In Revealing Outfit at Premios Juventud: Watch
I'm tripping. How exactly is Iggy Azalea booking all these Latin music awards? She doesn't sing in Spanish, she has never performed a full concert in Latin America, her most recent singles haven't charted at all in Spanish-speaking countries, so how is she doing it? How is she booking all these Latin music awards gigs? Something smells fishy here.
The Australian raptress was one of the star performers earlier this week at Premios Juventud 2017. Held live from Miami and steamed via Univision annually, the Premios Juventud recognize the accomplishments of "Spanish-speaking celebrities in the areas of film, music, sports, fashion, and pop culture" of the last year. So again, why was Iggy there? I know she was in Mexico a couple of weeks ago at the MiAw Awards performing as well but the those awards were about the digital, and the social media world, not so about music, so I actually didn't mind Iggy's presence there, but at the Premios Juventud? That's a whole different thing. In these awards there are music categories, and I don't know why the organization would invite Iggy Azalea and worst than that allow her to perform at the show, stealing the opportunity of an actual Spanish-speaking singer to take the stage that night this week.
Iggy performed "Switch" (lol, no comments) and although the performance was mostly meh because of the obvious lip syncing, it did have some "woah! now I'm interested" moments thanks to Iggy's ass-revealing latex outfit.
Oh, and to make things even worse (yes, it was actually possible) Iggy didn't just stole the opportunity of a Spanish-speaking singer/actor to perform at the 2017 Premios Juventud, she also stole the opportunity for that person to present an award. She was given the duty to announce the winner of the "Super Sónico" award; that being Iggy's "amigo" Maluma.
Was that too much of an affectionate embrace/kiss on the cheek or was that just me seeing that? The "dating" rumors are still alive thanks to this "passionate" moment!
