Iggy Azalea Announces Duet with Britney Spears for Princess of Pop's Album No. 9
Uh-uh! Is she in trouble? Iggy Azalea spilled some top-secret beans during a backstage interview at Kiss 108’s Jingle Ball on Sunday night, December 14 in Boston. She was rambling about her 2015 projects when suddenly she spoke of a Britney Spears collaboration she had recently recorded, and that she was very excited about for people to hear "early next year". The interviewer was left in a shock state. He had just obtained a major scoop! A Britney and Iggy duet had been confirmed thanks to him!
“I think people are really going to love it and enjoy it. It's a really fun track” - Iggy
Further inquired about this surprising collaboration, Iggy said that she was reached by Britney’s team, that she was honored that the princess of pop wanted to work with her, that she had recorded three different verses with one being very much liked by Britney’s producer and being the one ultimately picked for the song, and that she couldn’t wait for her fans and Britney’s fans to hear the track in early 2015.
So basically the Australian rapper confirmed that Brit Brit's new era will commence at the top of next year, that the first single will feature her (meaning it’s going to be uptempo and slightly urban-influenced), and if my calculations are correct the new Britney Spears LP will be here in March-April?
Iggy may have recorded her verse at a studio far away from Britney but she IS going to meet her when she goes to Las Vegas for New Year's Eve and checks out the pop princess' residency show. They'll definitely talk about that upcoming single of theirs!
