Remy Ma premiered her much-hyped new single “Wake Me Up” today. The Lil Kim-assisted hard-hitting hip hop track is Remy Ma’s official return to the mainstream game. The raptress recently signed a deal with Columbia Records and together they’ll release the next Remy Ma studio album in due time. What changed Remy Ma’s luck? A song called “SHEther”. The anti-Nicki Minaj song performed by Remy Ma that became a viral hit early this year caught the attention of the executives at Columbia Records, and most likely the fact that female rappers are being regarded as “hot” again following the success of Cardi B helped to the executives' decision too.
“You fake-ass bitch, you owe homage, pay that sh*t! / Spray that fif', the crown, I'mma take that sh*t / 'Cause you a clown and Homey don't play that sh*t!”, raps Remy Ma in her new single, reminding lesser girls of their place below her.
THIS IS A JAM! Remy slayed those verses and Lil Kim served LIFE in the fun hooks. “Wake Me Up” sounds iconic and so refreshing! Nicki Minaj better be worried.
