The disappointment continues…

Havana Brown released her new single “Battle Cry” featuring Bebe Rexha last week, which despite its exciting snippet turned out to be a musical disappointment due to its messy structure, and insipid sound, and today (July 30) the official music video, directed by The Squared Division, premiered on VEVO. Unfortunately, the clip doesn’t help the song but lets the disappointment grow even more. I’m feeling bad for Havana. She must’ve spent a considerable amount of money getting Bebe Rexha on the song and shooting this Western-themed music video in the US… and for what? For nothing! All of her investment will be in vain once “Battle Cry” fails to chart decently everywhere. Havana should’ve stuck doing pure EDM/dance party music. This style simply looks too fake on her.

As for the “Battle Cry” music video, which only deserves one watch, the disappointment consists on the no-show of Bebe Rexha. She does not appear in the music video at all! Lol… I just can’t. Instead, it’s ‘all eyes on Havana Brown wearing a pink wig’. The Australian singer plays the role of a femme fatale cowgirl who will humiliate four allegedly jerk boys, who have (allegedly again) done her wrong, by writing on their skin while they’re asleep or sneakily spiking their drinks so they pass out. In the end, the four men will wake up and seek revenge on Havana.

The best thing about this “Battle Cry” is obviously how pretty Havana Brown looks in it, but the thing as a visual whole is predictable, and gets a bit too boring soon.

What do you think of the video?
