Hailee Steinfeld & DNCE Perform “Rock Bottom” Remix On “GMA”: Watch

Hailee Steinfeld’s “Haiz” EP hasn’t thrown the towel yet.

The 19-year-old Californian pop singer released last week a brand new single from “Haiz”, the song “Rock Bottom”, but she didn’t send radios the original version but a new, remix version featuring labelmates DNCE (as in the band of “Cake By The Ocean”). This evidently was a strategy put together by the evil geniuses at Republic Records to assure success for Hailee’s new single. Making two of their most promising new additions to their roster team up is a clever move. I mean, if this remix succeeds, they both win. Having praised this strategy, though, I’m afraid to say that I personally prefer the original, solo version than this new one featuring Joe Jonas of DNCE. It’s just that my mind does believe Hailee when she sings the story of the song, but it doesn’t believe Joe. My opinion is that “Rock Bottom” is a song meant to be sung by just one artist only. Anyhow…#JUSTICEFORYOURESUCHA!

The first televised performance of the new “Rock Bottom” duet remix took place on ABC’s “Good Morning America” today (Feb.29) (see below).

Vocally, it was pretty decent, but I can’t say it was amazing. But that’s okay, I wouldn’t be able to sing my best at 8:30 in the morning either.

Hailee looked super pretty as usual, and Joe Jonas looked a mess as usual. Who the hell is his stylist and does he really think he looks cool in that clothes and with that hair?

Also, I noticed a strong lack of chemistry on stage. And the final part of the performance was a bit random. It kept going for too long.

FYI: The music video for “Rock Bottom” should be premiering any day now.
