When it was made public that G-Eazy and Halsey were a couple, we knew it was a matter of time until they would record a collaboration, and then it happened. “Him and I” is the song of the debut G-Eazy and Halsey collaboration and they debuted it live at a random concert in the summer. However, the song’s official release wasn’t until today, approximately 3 months after that random debut at that random summer concert. “Him and I” is officially the new single from G-Eazy’s third studio album “The Beautiful & Damned”, which will be released on December 15th. The quality of the videos posted on YouTube of the debut live performance was rather poor, so if you were disappointed by the song back then, we must urge you to give a second chance and stream it now in its high quality studio version because we can officially say “Him and I” is BIG. Big because it’s a great song, great lyrics, great execution by both G-Eazy and Halsey, the amazing chemistry between these two shows in the song, and because overall this sound like a potential chart-topping mega hit for the winter season, and any song with that potential should definitely be heard and loved (this could best G-Eazy's best performing single to date; 2015's "Me, Myself & I" that peaked at #7 on the Hot 100!).
You can tell G-Eazy and Halsey are in the honeymoon phase of their relationship from the lyrics of “Him and I”. This song is a declaration of love and that G-Eazy and Halsey seemingly think this couple is set to last till death.
Loving the dark urban-electro sound of this.
Hit or Miss?
UPDATE: The music video is now available on VEVO. The video sees G-Eazy and Halsey just living their real-life couple's life.
