FIFA: Shakira WILL Close 2014 World Cup

shakira fifa world cup closing ceremony

No more rumors, no more denying and no more minor websites confirming and people doubting their veracity! For today, July 3, the FIFA confirmed via a press release posted on its official website that Colombian superstar Shakira WILL be performing at the closing ceremony of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"I'm thrilled to be performing my song ‘La la la (Brazil 2014)’ at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony," said Shakira. "I have an intricate relationship with football for obvious reasons, and I truly understand what the World Cup means to so many people, myself included. I just feel so grateful for the opportunity to come back to perform at the Closing Ceremony of this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil, it feels right. The fans have shown the most incredible support for this song and I can't wait to perform it for them."

The closing ceremony and final game will take place at the Estádio do Maracanã (Maracana Stadium) in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.

Shakira is confirmed to be doing show-stopping performance of 'La la la (Brazil 2014)' alongside Carlinhos Brown. And you KNOW it’s going to be epic! Or at least 10,000 miles better than the fiasco that was the Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez performance of 'We Are One' (yeah, that's the official World Cup song, right?) a few weeks ago.

Shakira is going to teach J.Lo a few lessons of how you do it at the World Cup.
