Did Tinashe Slay The US National Anthem at The Padres vs Dodgers Game? [2016]
Tinashe had the honor of singing the US national anthem prior to the kick-off of the San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game (won by the Dodgers 15-0) before a sold-out PETCO Park (in sunny San Diego, California) yesterday, April 4.
This wasn’t the first time Tinashe performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a televised major sports event, nor it was the first time the “2 On” singer performed at a San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers MLB game. She also sang the US national anthem two years ago but at the Dodgers’ home. Re-watch here.
For yesterday’s pre-game performance, Tinashe opted to flaunt her natural hair, wear an all-black ensemble, and off she went to do her thing. Was this Tinashe’s best rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner”? Well, no, she’s done it better in the past - however, last night’s was nice. I don’t know if she was nervous or if it was something else, but she did have some shaky moments (she eventually pulled through, though). Nevertheless, WOW at her major control in the lower notes.
Nice performance, Tinashe keeps proving her worth, and PLEASE LET RCA GIVE “JOYRIDE” A DAMN RELEASE DATE ALREADY!
