Deorro Give Us A New EDM Anthem, “I Can Be Somebody”: Listen Now
He won me over with his collaboration with Chris Brown “Five More Hours”, and now DJ Deorro is winning me even more with his new song called “I Can Be Somebody”, which features some Nashville-based artist named Erin McCarley. I honestly don’t know anything about this girl but she has some pretty nice vocals in her and her singing voice reminds me quite a lot to Ellie Goulding’s… and that isn’t a bad thing.
“I Can Be Somebody”, although expected to be included too on Deorro’s debut album allegedly coming out later this year via Ultra Records, is going to make its first ‘appearance’ on the soundtrack disc of the movie “We Are Your Friends”, which will be arriving in stores, in the US thanks to Interscope, this Friday, August 21st.
“I Can Be Somebody” is both a mellow and party-ready (yes it’s 2 in 1) track that boasts a deliciously infectious EDM-based beat (kind of robot-ish too) and that hears Erin McCarley crying out loud that although she’s had issues with relationships in the past, she knows she’s capable – as everyone else – to be “somebody to love”.
The beat in the chorus (kind of giving me old Daft Punk vibes maybe?) is FIRE. Can’t wait to throw my hands in the air at the club to this track!
