Didn’t David Guetta hear Justin Bieber’s EDM collaborations with DJ Snake (“Let Me Love You”) and Major Lazer (“Cold Water”) from last year? It seems like he didn’t. Because why could he give his new song with Justin Bieber, “2U”, such a generic EDM production if he did, right?
“2U”, a David Guetta featuring Canadian troublemaker Justin Bieber track, was released this Friday morning on digital stores. An accompanying “lip sync” audio video featuring a handful of Victoria’s Secret models was released on YouTube also this morning.
“When it comes to you / There's no crime / Let's take both of our souls / And intertwine”, sings Justin Bieber on the chorus of his romantic, laid-back new EDM collaboration with French DJ David Guetta.
Are those lyrics a metaphor to having sex?
“2U” would be a good song if it had a decent EDM beat and not this generic disappointment David Guetta crafted. It almost feels like he’s losing his magic touch. His track with Nicki Minaj “Light My Body Up” wasn’t especially “lit” either in terms of EDM production value. At least the Justin Bieber vocals are enjoyable to listen to, else this whole song would be a complete disaster.
