Dare To Watch Liam Payne's Cringey "Strip That Down" Performance On "Graham Norton"?
That was such a cringey performance. The secondhand embarrassment was real for me.
I love Liam Payne, I love his “wife” Cheryl, I love how down to earth he is, I love everything he did in One Direction, and I love his debut solo single “Strip That Down”, but this debut live performance on “The Graham Norton Show” he did last night on BBC One was just a mess. And I hope he realizes this fact and improves everything for the next time.
How to sum up this performance? “Bieber tribute act fail” meets “poor Justin Timberlake impersonation”. Something like that, yeah. If we could revert back time, and this would be Liam’s audition (kind of felt like an audition to be honest) on “The X Factor”, I would not tell him “yes” to move on to the next round.
Liam’s look was not the bomb too (Timberlands? For real?) and for some reason his vocals sounded way too loud in comparison to the track. But this wasn’t Liam’s fault. He sounded good. The show’s team must’ve messed something up in the audio department.
Nothing good about this performance then? Well, the stage and lighting effects were cool and the dancers also did a good job. That was about it.
Having said all of this, I urge Liam to learn from this terrible mistake, improve the whole routine and everything, and just keep on doing promo for “Strip That Down”. He’s going to have to work hard if it wants the song to go #1 in the UK.
