Corinne Bailey Rae - Closer (Music Video!)
English singer Corinne Bailey Rae has premiered the music video for "Closer", the official second single taken from her latest album "The Sea" released in January. Simple but cute video. And especially love the scenery and the way it was shot! This was directed by Adria Petty. You may have read about her as she is the director of the documentary "Paris, Not France" on hotel heiress and celebrity Paris Hilton, of course. An interesting in-depth look on Paris' life that premiered at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival.
Back to Corinne's music, I have to say "Closer" is my personal favourite on Bailey Rae's album. I just everything about it. The melody, lyrics, vocals = stunning job. Unfortunately, seems it didn't work that well when it was officially released back in January. She promoted the single a bit in the USA, but quickly switched to the third cut "Paris Nights/New York Mornings" a few weeks later that didn't do much either chart-wise. However, looks like Corinne put some pressure on her label asking to recover "Closer", and re-release it with proper promotion, as it truly deserves! This time with an official music video.
