Conor Maynard is a diamond in the rough that Parlophone Records should take particular care of. He’s just 22, haven’t had a #1 hit in the UK yet but with the potential he has his label doesn’t really need to worry if he can't get a single to the top of the charts right now because he may he having a streak of number ones in a very near future.

Born in 1992 in Brighton, England, Conor released in 2012 his debut album “Contrast” (this did reach #1 on the UK Albums Chart), and all four official singles from it entered the Top 10 in the UK. I especially loved his collaboration with Ne-Yo, "Turn Around". It is a major bop and you should definitely check it out if haven't heard it yet.

Last summer, Conor released the first single of what would be his second studio album. “R U Crazy”, a swing-influenced track, debuted at #4 on the UK Singles Chart. Conor promoted the single some but after that ended, it was said he went back to the studio to complete his new album. So 8 months later, and now in 2015, Conor finally drops a follow-up single. The new album will be arriving allegedly this summer.

The new single is called “Talking About”, and it’s phenomenal. This kid always serves bops, and good bops. You can tell Conor wants to get on top of the "deep house" wave Kiesza initiated some time ago with his new single, but giving his version of this genre a special touch: “Talking About” also boasts a little bit of retro-dance music elements.

No doubt “Talking About” will be a DJs' favorite for this Spring/Summer season. I bet the remixes of this will sound fabulous. The song hears Conor praising that special girl that gives his life a meaning. He says in the new single that he doesn't need anything in the world but his girlfriend as she is "what I'm talking about". After each chorus, a deep-house break which Kiesza would be very proud of drops.

The song was released last night (March 1) in the UK and on the same day the music video was premiered. Watch below! It was shot in Miami, and features a cameo by Craig David who is a resident of the Florida city since many years ago. The clip shows Conor exploring the city as only a hitchhiker would.

What do you think of the song and video?
