Coldplay - "Magic" [Music Video]
Chris Martin is a magician's assistant in the music video for "Magic", the first single from Coldplay's upcoming album "Ghost Stories", due in stores May 19th.
Two of the first things that come to mind when you think Coldplay are 'big sales' and 'high chart positions'. However, this is not quite the scenario of "Magic". The 'chill' song was released in March, and although it has reached thus far #23 on the US Billboard Hot 100, its iTunes sales nor radio 'updates' are that good. Will the music video premiere of "Magic" make Coldplay's start-of-the-new-era go brighter?
And with a title like "Magic", director Jonas Åkerlund knew exactly what the treatment for the song's official music video was going to be. Watch above the black-and-white visual where Gwyneth Paltrow's future ex-husband is the assistant of a magician, one with good fame apparently but one that is a jerk too. Chris will eventually get rid of the dude with some cool 'magic', and clear the path to live a happy life with the magician's magicienne wife, played by actress Zhang Ziyi.
