Charlie Puth - "One Call Away" [Music Video Premiere!]
Damn. It really is his new single. What a bad choice!
If you still had doubts, everything was cleared up today. "One Call Away" is indeed the second single from newcomer Charlie Puth's debut album "Nine Track Mind", which he will release in stores on November 16th via Atlantic Records. So, the official follow-up to the amazing Meghan Trainor-assisted "Marvin Gaye" is this boring piano-driven track called "One Call Away" and I'm so disappointed. The song is so BLAND, and such a "quality" decline in comparison to "Marvin Gaye". What are they thinking!?
Up until today (Sept. 14), I still had the hope Atlantic Records executives and Charlie would come to their senses and downgraded "One Call Away" to "buzz single" but this official music video premiered moments ago on MTV.com pretty much confirms it. "One Call Away" is Charlie's next single.
The clip shows Charlie Puth trying (really hard) to let the girl he's fallen at first sight for know that he, and not that brainless jock she's dating, is the Mr. Right for her.
Review: Cute, sensitive music video, very in line with the mood and theme of the song, but this, evidently, will not make me change my mind about "One Call Away" being a terrible second single for Charlie. How can you honestly go from "Marvin Gaye" to this borefest?
