Charli XCX - "Breaking Up" [Music Video Premiere!]
A Christmas gift for Charli XCX? Not an iPhone! She likes to destroy them really bad with a hammer! Well, only if you’re her boyfriend and you mistreat her. Charli XCX has just unveiled via YouTube the official video for “Breaking Up” and it’s bad ass!!
Ahhhh! It IS her new single! I’m so happily surprised. The 90’s-inspired pop/rock track “Breaking Up” was released on iTunes a couple of weeks ago and it was thought to be just another “countdown single” from “Sucker” – Charli XCX’s new album which comes out on December 15th in the USA – but it seems the positive reception it’s had (re-read here irectlyrics’ super nice review of “Breaking Up”) has changed the minds of Charli XCX and the bosses at her record label of Atlantic as they've now upgraded the song to "official single" status. “Breaking Up” is now then the follow-up to the flop second single “Break the Rules”. “Breaking Up” is just ten times better. I’m sure it'll do at least "OK" - and not flop abysmally like “Break the Rules” did. I just really, really, REALLY like “Breaking Up”. I like Charli’s bad chick attitude in it, the 90’s pop/rock sound and overall the super laidback, and care-free feeling.

Charli XCX’s hot boyfriend embarrasses her in front of her in-laws (he says the hottest girl in school has a crush on him and after realizing he’s screwed it up, he says Charli XCX is the second hottest, lol! Dumb ass!) and that is just “THE END” for her. She breaks up with him, and heads to a “bowling alley” party with her closest girlfriends where besides drinking, and losing their minds, Charli XCX will show off her rock star side by playing with her band live. At the end of the video, the British pop star will get a video call from his now-ex on her iPhone where he’ll apologize but Charli is just tired of his crap so she'll hammer that phone down!!!
