Carly Rae Jepsen was the musical guest on the seventeenth episode of “Saturday Night Live” last night (April 4) hosted by “Birdman” star Michael Keaton.

The Canadian singer performed live her newest official single “I Really Like You”, and a brand new song titled “All That”, both cuts from her upcoming third studio album which should be arriving this summer via Interscope Records.

Carly went for all the all black look on SNL. It was like she was attending a funeral. In all truth, this wasn’t the most appropriate outfit for a performance of such a fun and lively song like “I Really Like You” is. And where were Carly’s terrific black back-up dancers with whom she’s been doing the signature song choreography for the last few weeks on TV? Have they been fired or something? I was really looking forward to see the choreography in SNL too. Oh man!

The second that Carly did, the never-before-heard “All That”, is a ballad and not the most radio-friendly one. This one will certainly forever remain as an album track. Not really sure why she decided to sing this over other unheard album songs. She should’ve chosen something more attention-grabbing. At least with “All That” Carly proved she’s a talented singer.
