Blake Shelton Performs "Neon Light" & "Boys 'Round Here" On "SNL" (Videos)
It was Blake Shelton time last night (Jan. 24) on “Saturday Night Live”. The country singer was the musical guest on the 12th episode of Season 40 of the NBC show.
He took the one in a lifetime opportunity his record label had given him to a) offer his best “live” self, b) promote his last year released ninth studio album “Bringing Back the Sunshine” as well as the old lead single from it; “Neon Light”, and c) take fans and “SNL” viewers back in time two years by performing “Boys ‘Round Here” (from the 2013 album “Based on a True Story...”).
Watch the performances below:
“Boys ‘Round Here”? Really?
I know this was Blake’s “SNL” debut and he wanted to give the best impression he could give, and probably performing one of his most popular songs to date seemed like the best way, but I really think people and fans were expecting to only hear music from “Bringing Back the Sunshine”. I was really rooting for a “Lonely Tonight” performance with Ashley Monroe (this is my favorite song from the album so…).Oh well. At least Blake did well.
PS: Don’t get confused. The blonde backup singer is not Miranda Lambert.
