Australia's Delta Goodrem Premieres Flawless Dance-y Single "Wings": Listen

delta goodrem wings cover

Just like a good wine, Delta Goodrem is getting better with age. The new single by the Australian pop singer “Wings” surfaced online today, July 23, just a day before it officially hits iTunes and the rest of digital music platforms. The uplifting track, which I have to describe as ‘organic dance music’, is the confirmed first single from Ms. Goodrem’s upcoming yet-untitled fifth studio album, out in Australia later this year. The new season of “The Voice Australia” is currently on air there so it’s no coincidence Delta’s label chose this time of the year to start the new ‘era’. By the way, did you know Delta and new “The Voice Australia” coach Jessie J have a major feud? Click here to see Delta walking off set after listening to Jessie J's 'annoying' remarks.

Delta Goodrem never disappoints with her first singles. In her last album, 2012’s “Child of the Universe”, I loved “Sitting on top of the World”, and now in the new yet-untitled one, I am loving so much the first single “Wings”. “Wings” is a dance record, but it has other elements like piano or strings that make it a bit more unique-sounding and not entirely ‘in your face’ dance. The fast pre-chorus is outstanding, and the chorus is quite solid as well. And there’s not much to comment about Delta’s vocals… flawless as usual. She hits her lows and highs so perfectly.

Hit or Miss?
