Lovely Ariana Grande has world premiered the music video for "Put Your Hearts Up", the official first single from the 18-year-old's upcoming debut album, due out this year on Universal Republic - Co-directed by Meiert Avis & Jeremy Alter, the MV for "Put Your Hearts Up" was set to debut on VEVO in late December 2011, then it was pushed back to mid-January 2012, but then again it suffered a delay and it wasn't until today (February 15th) 'til we could see the visual in its full glory.
My theory was Ariana's label didn't want to release the video for "Put Your Hearts Up" til the single hadn't had a decent peak on either the iTunes Top 100 or Billboard's Hot 100 charts, but it seems I was wrong, cause "Put Your Hearts Up" is still kinda-flopping and the vid is here. Maybe a few tv performances? Not sure why people aren't liking this. Sure Ariana's voice could be used for better songs, but "Put Your Hearts Up" is sweet. Let's hope though the follow-up single is something more powerful.
As for the "Put Your Hearts Up" MV, I thought it was a cute effort. But please can artists stop shooting their vids at the Universal Studios/Fox Studios backlots? It's so cheap IMO. Cause you can't help but comparing it with those previously flmed there (e.g The Saturdays, Chris Brown, All American Rejects, etc). Anyhow, Ariana looked stunning in that pink princess dress, she makes great things occur just by releasing a 'butterfly', she does a cute choreography, and even sings in the rain. Enjoy!
What do YOU think of the music video/song?
