Amerie - Outside Your Body (New Song!)
One year after the release of her last album - the underrated "In Love & War" in 2009, Amerie is back in the music scene. The singer has just premiered the official lead single from her upcoming album "Cymatika Vol. 1" - to be released in 2011. The new single is titled "Outside Your Body" and it was penned by Amerie and produced by Andre Harris, Kasey Phillips, and Nikholai Greene. The uptempo tune is a depart from her R&B-soul style as Ameriie (yep, she's added a new "i" to her artistic name) tries an euro/synth-pop sound now. Not as explosive as the productions of RedOne, but the essence is there.
Amerie actually announced a couple months ago her new musical path saying the new album would contain "new wave, trance, acid house and rock" elements. "Outside Your Body" is a good song, perhaps I'm needing a stronger production for the verses, but the chorus is hot! A mix of Hilary Duff's 'Wake Up' and Jay Sean's '2012' I would say with the "Let me take you to London town and Paris, yeah. Tokyo and Seoul" part. And the Korean moment was so cool! She should actually at some point of her career try the k-pop market. Who knows, maybe she has a big opportunity for her there. Anyways, the new single is good, I can't wait to hear the club/dance remixes, and I can only just wish Amerie the best! Bring on her new era!
