American Deal: Liam Payne Signs To Republic Records!

Liam Payne, as in the One Direction star and boyfriend of Girl Aloud’s Cheryl, has signed to Republic Records. Ariana Grande and The Weeknd’s label will be the one in charge of distributing Liam’s music in North America.
The official press release announcing the news was sent out by Republic Records this Monday morning (Oct. 17).
Liam’s manager Simon Oliveira says: “With Republic’s track record of launching powerhouse talent in the US including superstars like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Lorde, and countless others, I am more than confident we have assembled the best possible team alongside Capitol’s UK label to launch and shepherd Liam’s solo career.”
Republic Records CEO Monte Lipman comments: “Being a member of the most successful group of the last decade, Liam has a tremendous opportunity to make an even greater impact on pop culture. We’re honored by LIAM’s decision to join Republic Records, and have extremely high expectations for his solo career.”
The press release also promises “NEW MUSIC FROM LIAM PAYNE COMING SOON”.
Only last week Liam posted on Instagram of photo of him and Pharrell working in the studio. The recording of his debut solo album is definitely in progress. And word in the street is he’s about to complete it. Lead single coming out by the end of the year?
