Alicia Keys Drops New Song "We Gotta Pray": Listen
First she asked us to be “here” and now Alicia Keys wants us to “pray”. The R&B singer is making sure she stays relevant while she's officially "out-of-service" from the music industry due to her second pregnancy (her second child is due in late December but don't expect AK to be releasing a new studio album soon because she's obviously gong to dedicate the first months after the delivery entirely to her new baby). Alicia dropped on Wednesday night (Dec. 3) via her personal YouTube page a new song (with an accompanying music video) titled “We Gotta Pray”. It’s another inspirational ballad whose aim is to open our minds to the reality of the world we're living in.
"We Are Here" and “We Gotta Pray” are very much alike content-wise. They both talk about the violence that currently runs through the world, the injustices or the poverty. The final intent of both songs is different, though. If "We Are Here” was about us being the ones who should make the changes in the world, “We Gotta Pray” is just about us praying to the Lord that a change is reached (miraculously?). Anyway, both are pretty songs and Alicia sings both really well. And it’s very intelligent from her side to be dropping new music from time to time (even though it's just tracks like these) because it makes her stay "relevant". I'm rooting her next album to be here by the end of 2015...hopefully.
